ASTRO Guideline on Radiation Therapy for Anal Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Published: Web posted February 2025
This guideline addresses four key questions on the use of radiation therapy (RT) for management of anal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). These questions include indications for RT, concurrent systemic therapy and local excision/surgery; appropriate RT techniques, dose-fractionation regimens, target volumes and dose constraints; and appropriate surveillance strategies after definitive treatment.
The guideline is based on a systematic review and analysis prepared by an evidence-based practice center on behalf of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).
