Who We Are

ASTRO is the premier radiation oncology society in the world, with more than 10,000 members who are physicians, nurses, biologists, physicists, radiation therapists, dosimetrists and other health care professionals who specialize in treating patients with radiation therapies. These medical professionals make up the radiation therapy treatment teams that are critical in the fight against cancer. Together, these teams treat more than one million cancer patients each year.

Our staff thrives on working together to support these professionals. Knowing that what we do each day is helping people living with a diagnosis of cancer lends a real sense of purpose and meaning to the jobs we do. Through our collaborative efforts, we bring together the expertise of our staff to promote and advance the field of radiation oncology. Who We Serve

Our membership is made up of members of the treatment team including radiation oncologists, physicists and nurses. They dedicate their days to treating cancer patients with radiation, researching ways to improve cancer care and working to ensure that patients are being treated safely and effectively.

Our Office

ASTRO is located in the heart of National Landing (Crystal City) in Arlington, Virginia. The metro station is in our building and the VRE station and many express bus routes are close by. There are many shops and restaurants in easy walking distance and the Crystal City Water Park right across the street.

Our office has won several interior design awards. As you can see from the picture, we have a beautiful facility with state of the art technology.
