Accelerating Kids Access to Care Act

December 11, 2024

ASTRO joined 230 organizations in support of the Accelerating Kids’ Access to Care Act (S.2372 / HR.4758). Groups are calling on Congress to complete action and include this language in an end-of-year legislative package. If enacted, the bill will reduce barriers and red tape that patients covered by Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) – like some complex childhood cancer patients – must navigate to receive critical time-sensitive cancer treatment from providers outside their home state.

The House of Representatives passed HR.4758 unanimously on September 15, 2024, and ASTRO urges leadership in the House and Senate to ensure this legislation becomes law before adjourning at the end of December.
