In a House Energy and Commerce Committee Health subcommittee hearing on bills related to health care payments, members questioned panelists on price transparency and site-neutral payments and other issues. In the second session featuring panelists from stakeholder groups, members asked more questions regarding the impact of site-neutral payment policies on health care costs and access. A couple questions also highlighted the potential for value-based payment systems to support innovation, particularly in cancer care.

Overall, the hearing showed Congress’ appetite for tackling health care issues with long-term solutions that will help preserve access to care for patients while improving transparency and providing stability for providers.
