ASTRO 2025: Abstract submissions are due in just six days!

Time is running out to complete your abstract submission for the 67th ASTRO Annual Meeting. Review the guidelines, double-check your entries, and ensure your submissions are complete and submitted by 11:59 p.m. Pacific time on Tuesday, February 25. Interested in applying for an Abstract Award? You can simultaneously apply for an award (same deadline!) during the submission process. Good luck! Do you want your voice to be heard on Capitol Hill? Make plans now to join us for ASTRO’s 2025 Advocacy Day May 19-20, as we make our lawmakers aware of what they need to do to help cancer patients and your practice. This two-day event features advocacy for stabilizing reimbursement, fixing prior authorization and increasing cancer research funding, as well as discussions with guest policy experts, Hill meeting training, Hill visits and more. We also have time for networking with ASTRO leaders, volunteers, residents and peers. Learn more and register now!

 

ASTRO-AstraZeneca SCLC Therapy Scientific Challenge

This initiative, in partnership with AstraZeneca's externally sponsored research, aims to answer the question: How can treatment and outcomes for LS-SCLC be improved through the combination of immunotherapy and advanced radiation therapies? Applications will be accepted through April 30; see the Program Announcement for more details.

 

Nominating Committee welcomes candidate suggestions for 2025 elections

ASTRO’s Nominating Committee will soon begin the process of selecting candidates for the 2025 elections. The following positions are available: President-elect Secretary/Treasurer-elect Vice-chair of the Health Policy Council Vice-chair of the Science Council To recommend a colleague or yourself for one of the above positions, review the Criteria for Elected Positions, send the name of the nominee, the position you would like the nominee to be considered for and the reason for your recommendation by email to the ASTRO Nominating Committee. Nominations must be received by 5:00 p.m. Eastern time, Friday, March 7.

 

Reminder: Nominate your colleague(s) for the 2025 ASTRO Gold Medal Award

Nominations are currently open for the ASTRO Gold Medal award and may be sent via email directly to [email protected]. ASTRO has the distinct pleasure of awarding up to three individuals annually, based on their extraordinary contributions to the Society and to the field of radiation oncology and cancer care. The Early Career Committee is holding an open committee meeting on March 10, 3:00 p.m. Eastern time. All early career members are invited for an open discussion about how ASTRO can support the early career community. Registration is required; the meeting will be held on Zoom.
