RPT roundtable convenes for third session
Yesterday, ASTRO hosted the third Radiopharmaceutical Therapy Roundtable with attendees representing 15 industry partners, SNMMI, the FNIH and ASTRO leaders and members. Industry Roundtable members take turns organizing the meeting. Thank you to Bayer and Voximetry for coordinating yesterday’s agenda which led to robust discussion on personalized dosing, practical guidance for radiation oncology facilities and the role of radiation oncology in clinical trials. Watch for more information about ASTRO RPT initiatives in the future including a multidisciplinary symposium that will take place next February.
 
New On Target Podcast! Side Effects of Radiation Therapy for H&N Cancer
As we wrap up Head and Neck Cancer Awareness month, ASTRO has released an additional head and neck cancer related patient-focused podcast on the RTAnswers – On Target podcast show. In this episode, radiation oncologists Niema Razavian, MD, from Moffit Cancer Center and Ryan Hughes, MD, from Wake Forest University School of Medicine, discuss side effects of radiation therapy for head and neck cancers, when these side effects start and how long they last, and how patients can work with their treatment team to combat them. One day left to apply! ASTRO-BCRF Annual Meeting Trainee Travel Awards
The ASTRO-BCRF Annual Meeting Trainee Travel Awards provide funding to support trainee participation in ASTRO’s Annual Meeting. Students and residents are encouraged to apply for this award designed to help trainees gain career building skills and engage in education, networking and mentoring events at the Annual Meeting. Review the ASTRO-BCRF Trainee Travel Awards application criteria and submit your application by tomorrow, April 24.
 
Explore volunteer opportunities with ASTRO, apply by May 2
Visit the Call for Committee Volunteers online to explore committees and subcommittees that are accepting volunteers. You may then select up to two committees in order of preference. The committee volunteer process is open until May 2. Volunteers who are selected to serve will be notified no later than August 1, 2025. Follow this Roadmap to Committee Service for important dates throughout the process.

Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) proposed rule released
CMS released the FY 2026 IPPS proposed rule, which includes a 2.4% payment update for eligible hospitals. The IPPS proposed rule often signals important policy shifts that may also appear in the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) and Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (HOPPS) this summer.
