Check out recommendations by HEDI and the Women in Radiation Oncology Affinity Group
ASTRO, under the guidance of the HEDI Council and subcommittees such as the Women in Radiation Oncology Affinity Group, has made an intentional effort to support and celebrate diversity within our radiation oncology community. These efforts are highlighted in this week’s blog, where members of the Women in RO Affinity Group compiled a list of sessions, events and resources.
ASTRO 2024 medical student opportunities
Calling all undergraduate, graduate and medical students interested in learning more about careers in radiation oncology! ASTRO along with ARRO are eager to present the 2024 ARRO Medical Student Workshop on Saturday, September 28, from 12:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Eastern time. The program has been designed to help medical students navigate choosing and securing a residency position in radiation oncology.

The Aspiring Scientists and Physicians Program, which aims to connect students from backgrounds historically underrepresented in medicine to peers, residents and faculty, will provide students with critical advice on taking the next steps in a career in radiation oncology. This program is designed for undergraduate, graduate and medical students and will take place on Sunday, September 29, from 11:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Eastern time.

Both programs will be offered in-person and on the ASTRO 2024 virtual platform. Students should register in advance by Thursday, September 12.
