Learn more about ASTRO Committees
ASTRO leadership and staff are often asked about how to become more involved with ASTRO, especially with committee work. To help inform members, the ASTRO Early Career Committee is hosting a Committee Fair during the Annual Meeting in the Early Career and Mentoring Lounge, Salon C, on Monday, September 30, from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. The Committee Fair will open with a brief introduction to ASTRO’s Committee Process. Then, the Fair will take on a Speed Mentoring format where attendees can rotate to different tables to learn about the work of ASTRO Councils and Committees. Mark your calendars for this exciting new addition to the ASTRO Annual Meeting.

The Resource Corner!
This month’s featured educational resource is radoncreview! Talk about a comprehensive resource! Thanks to Jeff Ryckman, MD, MSMP, Anna Brown, MD, MPhil, and Christian Fernandez, MD, this resource walks through all the relevant studies for any question you could possibly have for radonc treatment paradigms in all major disease sites. Don’t have time to read a whole practice-changing paper? Radoncreview has got you covered!

Entrustable Professional Activities (EPA) project
We are finalizing templates for volunteers to streamline the writing process, and we will then pair resident volunteers with faculty members. We anticipate a group meeting in the next one to two months to review the logistics. Again, we appreciate everyone’s interest and enthusiasm in helping ARRO/ROECSG with this important topic. If you’re interested in helping with writing, please reach out to our education chairs Mustafa Basree, MD , and Shane Neibart, MD.

Remember to follow ARRO on social media!
We at ARRO provide resident input into professional organizations, disseminate information, and foster communication among residents. Follow us on our freshly-minted ARRO Instagram (arro_org) or Twitter/X where we post about events, scholarships, grants, educational resources, networking opportunities and more. Direct Messaging on both Instagram and Twitter/X is the fastest way to reach us.

Are you interested in brachytherapy and helping to develop education programming?
The American Brachytherapy Society (ABS) has recently established the ABS Resident Council, and they would love to have you! The council will provide a platform for residents interested in brachytherapy to come together, expand our professional networks, and impact our profession's trajectory. ABS membership is FREE for residents. If you're interested in becoming involved, please email the ARRO-ABS liaison, Rehema Thomas, MD, our education chairs Mustafa Basree, MD and Shane Neibart, MD, or Kristin Bradley, MD, ABS Board member and resident council advisor.

ABS is also interested in launching a newsletter that includes challenging brachytherapy teaching cases. This will be similar to the Red Journal’s Grey Zone cases – we hope to gather faculty/resident perspectives on these cases to facilitate our learning. If you’re interested in contributing, please email ARRO-ABS liaison Rehema Thomas, MD, and/or Chirag Shah, MD, ABS faculty. Our team would be happy to work with you to write the case and solicit input from other faculty. This is a fun opportunity and one that allows residents to connect with faculty both at their home and outside institutions.
