Adam Currey, MD, is an Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), and the Program Director for the MCW Radiation Oncology Program. He works as an attending radiation oncologist at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital and at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, both in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is the director of breast radiation oncology at MCW and recently completed an institutional phase II study of MRI-based pre-operative accelerated partial breast irradiation and serves on the breast tumor site group of the international Atlantic Consortium for the utilization of MR-based radiotherapy.
Dr. Currey has been involved in graduate medical education since he completed his residency training and is passionate about resident education. He is an experienced program director, having served in that role for seven years with another three years as associate program director. He has developed resident curriculum for the care geriatric cancer patients and created structured clinical encounters for residents to provide residents directed feedback on breaking bad news, obtaining informed consent, and discussion of clinical trial participation. He is currently working on outreach programs within his institution to expose students who are underrepresented minorities in medicine to the field of radiation oncology. He has served as a volunteer for the American Board of Radiology as a reviewer of SA-CME, written questions for the breast section of the clinical written exam, and as an oral board examiner.
