ASTRO Guideline on External Beam Radiation Therapy for Palliation of Symptomatic Bone Metastases - Replacement

This guideline replaces the 2017 update on bone metastases and addresses 5 key questions based on new literature. The topics include: 1) indications for RT in palliative treatment; 2) impact of other treatments for bone metastases on indications for RT in palliative treatment; 3) dose-fractionation, dose-constraints and techniques for initial palliative treatment of bone metastases; 4) dose-fractionation, dose-constraints and techniques for palliative reirradiation and 5) impact of dose-fractionation and techniques on toxicity and quality of life.
