Global Health Scholars Program
The ASTRO/ARRO Global Health Scholars (GHS) program was formally launched in 2011. It provides a scholarship stipend of $2,500 for four residents:
- Allowing senior residents interested in global health to work on a resident-designed clinical, outreach/educational or research project in a developing nation.
- Allowing senior residents to become immersed in different modalities of cancer care available in a particular region, as well as a greater appreciation for the culture and attitudes related to cancer and oncological care.
- Fostering a global perspective of oncology and encouraging ongoing outreach, research and progress in developing countries.
