Getting Around San Francisco 

The San Francisco area is served by three major airports: San Francisco International Airport (SFO), Oakland International Airport (OAK) and San Jose Mineta International Airport (SJC). The San Francisco International Airport is an approximate 30 minute drive to the Moscone Center; the Oakland International airport is a 30-45 minute drive; and the San Jose Mineta International Airport is a 45-50 minute drive.

Shuttle Buses

Shuttle buses will operate between official ASTRO hotels and the Moscone Center. The service will be provided continuously throughout the day starting on Saturday, September 27, 2025, and ending on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, for anyone who has booked a room through the ASTRO Housing Center. We will post a shuttle schedule here soon!

Public Transportation

SFMTA is San Francisco's public transportation system that provides light rail and bus services throughout downtown and to and from the airport. For more information on rates and schedules, please visit their website.

Ridesharing

San Francisco has a multitude of rideshare car service options such as Uber or Lyft.

Taxi

On average, a one-way taxi ride cost and distance from each of the three San Francisco area airports to the Moscone Center are as follows:

• San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is approximately between $45-$60 (gratuity not included) and takes up to 30 minutes.
• Oakland International Airport (OAK) is approximately between $30-$45 (gratuity not included) and takes about 45 minutes.
• San Jose Mineta International Airport (SJC) is approximately between $50-$100 (gratuity not included) and takes about one hour to an hour-and-a-half.
