The ASTRO Advocacy Breakfast will feature updates on key policy issues impacting radiation oncology, including an open dialogue on the Radiation Oncology Case Rate (ROCR) program proposal. Attendees will hear from ASTRO’s Health Policy and Government Relations Council physician leaders on current legislative and regulatory issues, including prior authorization, Medicare payments and research funding. In addition, panelists will engage in a discussion of ROCR, which ASTRO proposed in July as an innovative approach to reform payment for radiation oncology services for Medicare beneficiaries. The goal of ROCR is to address year-over-year payment cuts through the establishment of stable payment rates that protect access to high quality radiation therapy close to home. This interactive discussion will provide time for attendees to ask questions and make comments on the ROCR proposal.
