2008 Chicago Multidisciplinary Symposium in Thoracic Oncology

The 2008 Chicago Multidisciplinary Symposium in Thoracic Oncology (formerly the Chicago Symposium on Malignancies of the Chest and Head and Neck) will bring together physician specialists from North America and abroad presenting lectures and symposiums on an interdisciplinary approach for the treatment of thoracic cancers. The scientific program will provide information on the latest developments in basic and clinical research. The meeting is co-sponsored by ASTRO, ASCO, IASLC and the University of Chicago.

There will be two news briefings at the meeting as well as two "media education sessions". All four of these sessions will be webcast.

News releases will be scheduled for release throughout the meeting to help reporters filter the hundreds of cutting-edge research studies being presented at the meeting. We will also be holding 2 news briefings on the most ground-breaking studies. ASTRO communications staff will also be available to help facilitate interviews with researchers. There will also be secondary sources available as well. All media professionals who register for press credentials will receive a comprehensive press kit before the meeting and a complimentary copy of the Final Program and official meeting proceedings on site. Reporters attending the meeting will also be entitled to use the on site media facilities, which include computers with Internet access and wireless capabilities, laser printers and telephones. Complimentary food and drinks will also be provided throughout the meeting in the press room.
