Needs Statement
There is a need to continue to develop a community of translational researchers within the field and to foster opportunities for continued research with clinicians, biologists and radiologists. This symposium offers an opportunity to increase knowledge of basic science principles used in current protocols and learn about new techniques that will impact translational research now and in the near future. This year RTOG and SNM will be collaborating partners for this symposium.

Program Objectives

  • Advance translational research in radiation oncology and radiology.
  • Provide attendees with practical information on how to review designs of clinical trials.
  • Explain how research findings are introduced into the clinic.
  • Enhance clinical applicability of translational research.

Target Audience

The symposium is designed for radiation oncologists, residents-in-training, biologists, radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, clinical investigators and other healthcare professionals interested in translational research.

Residents and students are encouraged to attend this meeting as there are several informal opportunities to engage with the faculty such as the Poster Walk and Meet the Professor Luncheon.
