Software Information
If you are registered to contour on your personal laptop, you will need to ensure that your software specifications meet the description below:
- Intel Pentium processor or compatible processor.
- Windows 2000 or higher.
- Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher/ Mozilla Firefox 1.5 or higher.
- 256 MB of RAM, (512 Recommended) 360 MB of available hard disk
space; cache for optional installation files (recommended) requires an additional
300 MB of available hard-disk spaces. - Free Flash 9 player download.
- Wireless capabilities.
Needs Statement
The program is designed to provide crucial clinical education for professionals and provide an opportunity to discuss issues such as imaging and target delineation, quality assurance and its frequency, and achievable accuracy in each major disease site. Participants will have the opportunity to practice contouring and compare their contours to those of experienced professional faculty and technical support personnel.
Target Audience
This course is aimed at radiation oncologists, radiation physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists and radiation therapy nurses who work as a part of a treatment planning and delivery team.
Learning Objectives
- Strengthen hands-on contouring skills.
- Practice contouring techniques with leading experts.
- Compare contours with leading experts.
Accreditation Statement
The American Society for Radiation Oncology is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The American Society for Radiation Oncology designates this educational activity for a maximum of 9.0 AMA PRA Category 1 credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
International Physicians
The American Medical Association has determined that physicians not licensed in the United States who participate in this continuing medical education activity are eligible for AMA Physician’s Recognition Award Category 1 credit.
Technologists/Dosimeters
Application will be made to the American Society for Radiologic Technologists for designation of Category A continuing education credit.
Physicists
Application will be made to the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Program for CAMPEP credit.
